As a Laboratory Service Engineer 3 – RF Systems in Lam’s R&D lab environment, you will support the development of advanced RF and plasma technology by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting complex electrical systems, and calibrating high-power RF subsystems. Your daily tasks include system-level to PCBA-level failure analysis, utilizing VNAs, oscilloscopes, and other specialized equipment for RF characterization. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineering, process development, manufacturing, QA, firmware, and software teams on R&D activities, customer demos, and NPI builds. Essential skills include hands-on experience with high-power RF subsystems, proficiency in lab instrumentation, and the ability to manage laboratory infrastructure while adhering to safety protocols. This role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience supporting RF equipment in an R&D setting.

What you'll do
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on RF, electrical, and vacuum equipment.
Assemble, test, calibrate, and diagnose high-power RF subsystems in semiconductor labs.
Conduct system-level to PCBA-level failure analysis for complex RF systems.
Utilize advanced lab instrumentation for RF characterization and troubleshooting tasks.
Support prototype equipment installation, validation, and develop technical documentation.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
2+ years of hands-on experience with high-power RF subsystems and calibration techniques.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex electrical and electromechanical systems at both system and board levels.
Experience using advanced lab equipment such as VNAs, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment and plasma processing tools.
Strong organizational skills for managing lab assets and engineering testbeds.
Ability to work safely in cleanroom environments while adhering to safety protocols.
