The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) II joins the Cyber and IT Risk Management team to maintain the operational security posture of information systems. This role involves managing day-to-day security operations, including physical and environmental protection, incident handling, and security training. Key responsibilities include developing logical topologies, updating authorization documentation, implementing configuration management, and conducting periodic security reviews. The position requires identifying cyber security vulnerabilities and implementing countermeasures while ensuring audit records are accurately documented. Candidates must possess expertise in Information Security Management, Risk Management, and Standards. The work specifically supports Special Access Programs (SAPs) for Department of Defense agencies, including HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Required skills include experience with Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities.
Prepare, review, and update information system authorization packages.
Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization packages.
Coordinate hardware, software, and firmware modifications with the ISSM and AO/DAO.
Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are functioning correctly.
Collect, review, and document audit records and any identified anomalies.
Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of countermeasures.
Perform security impact analysis on all configuration management changes to authorization boundaries.
Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
What we're looking for
Must be a US Citizen.
Must currently possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph.
Must have 6+ years of related experience.
Must have 2+ years of related experience and a Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree with 2 years of experience (or 4 years of equivalent experience).
Must have required experience with Special Access Programs (SAP).
Must have prior experience in roles such as System Administrator, Network Administrator, or ISSO.
Must obtain IAT Level II or IAM Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security) within 6 months.
