Infrastructure Engineer I - Data Protection joins the infrastructure team to design, implement, and maintain critical data backup, recovery, and cyber resiliency solutions. This role focuses on ensuring business continuity and data integrity by protecting information against system failures and cyber threats. The engineer will manage transformation initiatives for simplification and standardization while developing engineering standards and technical documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include deploying solutions for Virtual Hosts, SQL, NO-SQL, DB2, Oracle, Azure, AWS, SaaS, and Active Directory workloads. Key technical requirements include Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, and Rubrik certifications. The role requires expertise in automated restore orchestration and image-based backup systems within a highly regulated environment. The position addresses the core business problem of maintaining data immutability and operational resilience while managing risks associated with complex infrastructure components and large-scale production environments.
Design, implement, and maintain data backup, recovery, and cyber resiliency solutions.
Deploy and manage protection for Virtual Hosts, SQL, NoSQL, DB2, Oracle, and cloud workloads.
Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions and automated workflows to streamline operations.
Ensure data integrity, immutability, and compliance with regulatory and security standards.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and analyze outages to recommend system improvements.
Build monitoring tools and automate service delivery and maintenance tasks.
Identify, measure, and control risks associated with business activities and infrastructure.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to peers.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
4 years of infrastructure experience in a specific discipline such as IT Management, Software Development, Data Engineering, or Agile Product/Release Management.
2 years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale backup/recovery solutions.
Knowledge of designing scalable IT systems, implementing system changes, and automating service delivery.
Basic understanding of cloud technologies and tools.
Experience with image-based backup solutions, virtualized infrastructure, database backups, and disaster recovery.
Experience in cyber recovery, automated restore orchestration, or working under strict federal regulations (preferred).
Rubrik Certifications, Ansible automation experience, or US military experience (preferred).
