The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) III joins the Cyber and IT Risk Management team to maintain the operational security posture of information systems. Working closely with the ISSM and ISO, the individual manages day-to-day security operations, including physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, and security training. Key responsibilities involve developing and updating authorization documentation, implementing configuration management across authorization boundaries, and conducting periodic compliance reviews. The role requires identifying cybersecurity vulnerabilities, implementing countermeasures, and monitoring system recovery processes. Necessary skills include Information Security Management and Information System Security. The position provides critical support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities, assisting Department of Defense, National Agency, and Contractor organizations with assessment and authorization efforts while ensuring all security-related documentation remains current.

What you'll do

Prepare, review, and update authorization packages for information systems.
Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization packages.
Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of countermeasures.
Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored.
Coordinate hardware, software, and firmware modifications with the ISSM and AO/DAO.
Perform continuous monitoring activities for authorization boundaries under your purview.
Ensure approved procedures are in place for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
Collect, review, and document audit records including any identified anomalies.

What we're looking for

Must be a US Citizen.
Must currently possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a CI Polygraph.
Must have 5+ years of related experience.
Must have 2+ years of SAP experience.
Must have a Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience (4 years).
Must possess skills in Information Security, Information Security Management, and Information System Security.
Must obtain Information Assurance Technician Level II or Information Assurance Manager II certification within 6 months of hire.
