The Information Assurance Engineer - Intern Conversion joins the cyber security team to support the development of essential program security documentation. This role involves creating security plans, contingency plans, and security test plans and procedures in compliance with IA policy. The individual will participate in Assessment and Authorization activities, execute security scanning, and support secure maintenance. Key responsibilities include performing security testing and evaluation to ensure correct implementation of security requirements and supporting system security design efforts and requirements analysis. Candidates must possess working knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and the verification and validation process. Required skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, good written and verbal communication, and the ability to recognize and report information relevant to sound systems engineering design.

What you'll do

Develop program security documentation including security plans, contingency plans, and test procedures.
Generate Assessment and Authorization (A&A) or Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation.
Participate in formal A&A and C&A activities for the program.
Execute security testing and evaluations to verify the implementation of security requirements.
Perform regular security scanning across systems.
Support secure maintenance activities for program systems.
Support system security design efforts and security requirements analysis.
Flow down security requirements to various program elements.

What we're looking for

Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance.
Must possess a Secret security clearance.
Must have working knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
Must have working knowledge of the system engineering process.
Must have working knowledge of the verification and validation process.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
