GNC Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop high-fidelity models of vehicle dynamics, interceptor performance, and weapon system effectiveness for real-time threat prediction.
• Implement resource models and control systems to manage the allocation and tasking of assets against dynamic threats.
• Build physics-based simulations and mission engineering tools to validate model behavior across diverse operational scenarios.
• Develop trajectory prediction and state estimation capabilities to characterize how threats and friendly assets move over time.
• Integrate modeling and simulation technologies into the command and control software stack from requirements through optimization.
• Tailor models and simulations for specific customer success use cases like interceptor performance and threat prediction.
• Translate technical progress into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders, operators, and end-users.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling using Python and MATLAB.
• Experience in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), trajectory prediction, state estimation, or developing predictive models for vehicle dynamics.
• Experience with resource modeling and control systems for asset tasking and allocation in command and control environments.
• Strong understanding of applied mathematics including linear algebra, optimization, and statistics for physics-based modeling.
• Experience in mission engineering to translate operational requirements into validated technical models.
• Familiarity with path planning and graph search algorithms like A* or D* Lite.
• Exposure to machine learning for planning and decision-making, including reinforcement learning and behavior prediction.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Rust for high-performance, safety-critical software (preferred).
• Background in physics-based modeling of interceptors or other high-speed aerial vehicles (preferred).
