Head of Economics Research, Head Economist

What you'll do

• Lead the global economics research function by setting the vision and driving a high-impact research agenda.
• Analyze the economic impact of the platform on Dashers, merchants, and consumers.
• Evaluate how proposed legislative and regulatory changes affect the company's operations and stakeholders.
• Produce public-facing analyses to communicate the company’s role in local economies to policymakers and media.
• Translate complex research into compelling narratives for external audiences and policy discussions.
• Engage with academics, think tanks, and other thought leaders to build a foundation for proposed policies.
• Manage a global team including technical mentorship, recruitment, and performance management.

What we're looking for

• You must have a PhD in Economics or a similar domain.
• You must have 10+ years of experience in economic research, data analytics, consulting, or a related quantitative role.
• You must demonstrate a track record of influencing senior stakeholders and communicating complex findings to non-technical audiences.
• You must possess expertise in SQL and statistical analysis including hypothesis testing, experimentation, and regressions.
• You must be proficient with at least one analytics and visualization tool.
• You must have the ability to leverage AI tools to scale and enhance research impact.
• You must have experience managing direct reports and performing technical mentorship and recruitment tasks.
• Experience in a technology company, government, or international roles is preferred.
