What you'll do

Serve as a domain expert and advisor on database architecture, infrastructure design, and data management strategy.
Establish and enforce database operational best practices, change control standards, and process improvements.
Act as the primary escalation point for high-severity database incidents, architectural risks, and security vulnerabilities.
Architect and tune large-scale, mission-critical OLTP database environments for high throughput and low latency.
Design and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Always-On Availability Groups and Replication.
Lead end-to-end planning for database patching, version upgrades, backups, restores, and decommissioning.
Provide technical leadership to Agile teams to set standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
Mentor junior and mid-level DBAs to cultivate technical expertise and foster a culture of continuous learning.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
Experience with SQL Server database administration, high-volume performance tuning, and database architecture (preferred).
7+ years of experience coding with more than two of the following: Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala (preferred).
3+ years of experience with database and database management systems (preferred).
4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks (preferred).
