The Full-stack Engineer 4 (Manager, IC) leads a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create solutions meeting regulatory needs. Daily responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, implementing targeted refactoring to reduce technical debt, and mentoring engineering community members. You will utilize a technical stack including Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, alongside Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and various AWS tools. This role addresses the business problem of driving a major transformation by delivering high-performance distributed microservices and full stack systems within a you build it, you own it environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers to create distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
  • Deliver robust cloud-based solutions using Java, Python, Go, or Node.js to meet regulatory needs and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership across Agile teams by setting standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement targeted refactoring to reduce technical debt and enhance system performance.
  • Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a "you build it, you own it" environment.
  • Mentor other members of the engineering community and drive professional development within technical teams.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience with database management systems, AWS/GCP/Azure, front-end frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or Git-based version control (preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks (preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs (preferred).
