JOB TITLE: Full-stack Engineer 4 The Full-stack Engineer 4 joins the Servicing, Business, and International team within Card Tech+ to build technology powering superior customer experiences. You will lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create distributed microservices and full-stack systems that meet regulatory needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions. You will work on the Empath platform, transforming rigid interfaces into a dynamic, configuration-driven intelligent workflow engine to detect and shut down card fraud, including account takeovers and transaction fraud. The role requires proficiency in Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, alongside experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Open Source RDBMS, and NoSQL databases.

What you'll do

Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers to create solutions meeting regulatory needs.
Deliver robust cloud-based solutions using Java, Python, Node.js, and AWS to drive customer experiences.
Provide technical leadership across Agile teams to set standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
Identify areas for improvement by implementing targeted refactoring to reduce technical debt and enhance performance.
Influence long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a "you build it, you own it" environment.
Mentor other members of the engineering community and drive professional development within technical teams.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
7+ years of experience coding with more than two of the following: Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala (preferred).
3+ years of experience with database and database management systems (preferred).
3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies (preferred).
4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks (preferred).
