Executive Director, Director of Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Serve as the Atlanta site lead for AWM Technology by representing the organization and partnering with firmwide leadership.
• Execute local talent strategies to recruit, hire, and build a high-performing engineering team in the Atlanta market.
• Lead software and data engineering teams to deliver production-grade systems while maintaining high standards for code quality and architecture.
• Drive the adoption of AI-enabled practices and generative AI tools across the entire engineering lifecycle.
• Set technical direction and review architectural decisions that balance traditional engineering rigor with modern AI capabilities.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, including CI/CD, code reviews, testing, and observability.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps and strategic initiatives.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• 7+ years of experience in applied software engineering.
• Experience in financial services or Wealth Management (preferred).
• Proven ability to guide architectural decisions, enforce code quality standards, and design for reliability and scale.
• Hands-on familiarity with applied AI, generative AI, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Demonstrated track record of building and scaling engineering teams, including recruiting and talent development.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and set culture for cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Excellent communication skills to influence senior stakeholders and translate technical topics into actionable narratives.
