Engineering Division – Dallas - Vice President, Security Engineering - 10427704 is a leadership role within the Engineering Division focused on fortifying software systems against cyber threats. The successful candidate will perform application security assessments including code reviews, penetration testing, design reviews, and threat modeling to identify vulnerabilities in software applications and designing processes. Day-to-day responsibilities involve reviewing security architecture, policies, and standards while researching cloud services for secure integration. The role requires collaborating with stakeholders to analyze exploit vectors, writing test cases, and providing remediation guidance to component owners. Key technical requirements include expertise in Java programming languages, common web stack technologies, and the ability to translate complex risks into understandable language for developers. This position addresses critical security gaps by ensuring robust defense programs through proactive threat analysis and consulting across various firm components.
Perform application security assessments including code reviews, penetration tests, design reviews, and threat modeling.
Identify vulnerabilities in software applications and design processes to mitigate organizational security risks.
Review and document security architecture, policies, and standard definitions for the firm.
Research new cloud services to determine how the firm can leverage them securely.
Conduct security threat analyses to identify exploit vectors and paths for various software components.
Develop and socialize test cases to verify assumptions derived from threat analysis.
Provide detailed remediation recommendations and consulting to component owners and engineers.
Collaborate with incident management and forensic personnel to develop a comprehensive understanding of cyber threat actors.
What we're looking for
A Master's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and three years of experience in security engineering.
A Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five years of experience in security engineering.
Experience reviewing security controls across different designs and systems to identify security gaps.
Experience highlighting and articulating risks to developers or engineers in understandable language.
Experience performing application vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of web applications.
Experience performing code reviews of web application programming languages such as Java.
Experience performing assessments of technologies leveraging common web stack technologies such as Java.
Experience performing architecture reviews of web applications.
