This role demands expertise in solid dielectric XLPE cables, high-pressure fluid-filled systems, and thermal performance analysis within a large-scale utility setting.

What you'll do

Develop end-to-end designs for underground transmission lines including duct bank configurations and conduit sizing.
Perform cable route analysis and feasibility studies for high-voltage projects.
Oversee selection and installation of advanced joints and terminations for power cables.
Execute ampacity studies using CYMCAP or similar tools to ensure thermal performance.
Lead post-installation testing programs, including VLF and Hi-Pot tests.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
8+ years of related experience in high voltage and extra-high voltage underground cable systems.
Expertise in solid dielectric XLPE and high-pressure fluid-filled pipe-type cable systems.
Proficiency in ampacity modeling with CYMCAP or similar tools for thermal performance analysis.
Experience in cable splicing, terminations, and commissioning procedures for energization.
Knowledge of IEEE and IEC standards related to power cable systems testing and design.
