As a Distinguished Engineer in Walmart Global Tech’s AI & Data organization, you will serve as a senior individual contributor and technical leader, shaping the long-term technical vision for enterprise-scale AI/ML systems. Your responsibilities include defining architectural standards, leading design reviews, and driving technical roadmaps that translate complex business needs into scalable solutions. You will provide hands-on guidance to multi-team engineering groups, influence AI lifecycle practices, and foster cross-functional collaboration with product, data science, and infrastructure teams. Additionally, you will mentor senior engineers, champion best practices in code quality and system reliability, and advocate for platform performance and cost efficiency. The role requires extensive experience with large-scale distributed systems, AI/ML production systems, observability practices, and cloud-native design, as well as the ability to influence without direct managerial authority.

What we're looking for
Over 12 years of experience in building and operating large-scale distributed software systems.
Proven track record as a senior individual contributor driving system architecture or technical strategy.
Deep expertise in AI/ML production systems, including model serving, orchestration, and performance optimization.
Strong knowledge of observability practices for complex distributed environments.
Demonstrated ability to influence engineers and leaders without direct managerial authority.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
