As a Distinguished Engineer in Capital One’s Developer Platforms organization, you will lead the technical vision and strategy for transforming software delivery at scale, focusing on continuous deployment and leveraging AI/ML to enable intelligent automation and predictive testing. Your role involves architecting modern, frictionless software delivery systems, driving innovation across teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of engineering excellence. You will work hands-on to prototype complex deployment architectures, mentor engineers, and collaborate with business leaders to define technical standards for software flow from commit to production. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in public cloud technologies like AWS, Agile development, and enterprise platform solutions, along with the ability to build consensus and drive adoption of new technical practices across diverse teams.
Lead the technical vision and strategy for continuous deployment across a large software delivery ecosystem.
Transform software delivery processes using AI/ML for intelligent automation and predictive testing.
Create "paved roads" to simplify complex deployment architectures for faster team operations.
Prototype and validate architectural decisions by maintaining hands-on programming involvement.
Ensure enterprise-wide alignment on solution architectures for compliance and value delivery.
Define metrics to measure progress and work closely with risk partners and regulators.
What we're looking for
At least 10 years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture.
Proven track record leading technical strategy for large-scale engineering organizations.
Extensive experience with public cloud technologies, specifically AWS.
Deep expertise in designing and building enterprise platform solutions.
Strong background in Agile software development methodologies.
Experience defining software design, architecture, and engineering practices.
Possession of relevant AWS certifications.
