Director Software Engineering

What you'll do

• Direct and oversee multiple teams through managers, ensuring performance, operations, and outcomes.
• Drive vision and strategy for systems/products across mobile foundation and core services, setting org-level OKRs.
• Set technical direction for shared platform investments like observability, release safety, and developer tooling.
• Own significant cross-functional initiatives end-to-end, removing systemic bottlenecks and ensuring timely delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners to influence business direction and secure resources.

What we're looking for

• Over 12 years of engineering experience in consumer-scale applications with expertise in native mobile development or modern web platforms.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience managing multiple engineering teams and building high-performing organizations.
• Proven track record of owning platform services critical for other teams, such as SDKs, CI/CD systems, and developer portals.
• Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to define roadmaps that balance business objectives with long-term technical health.
• Strong ability to identify and remove systemic organizational bottlenecks while championing engineering standards across multiple teams.
• Demonstrated success in setting and driving organization-level OKRs and implementing operational policies at scale.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
