The Director of Manufacturing Operations, ADS joins the Air Dominance & Strike division to oversee production from maturing prototypes through full-rate manufacturing at scale. This leader manages a team of managers, supervisors, and technicians to produce autonomous products like Fury, Barracuda, and Roadrunner. The role involves managing project portfolios, collaborating with engineering, planning, quality, and supply chain teams, and ensuring products are delivered on time and at cost. Key responsibilities include fostering floor culture, mentoring staff, and communicating with senior leadership and customers. Required expertise includes manufacturing and production operations, NPI to scaled production lifecycles, LEAN principles, and change management. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical acumen and communication skills. Preferred qualifications include a degree in a technical field and knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws.
Oversee all production for the Air Dominance & Strike division from prototype stages through full-rate manufacturing.
Manage a large team of managers, supervisors, and technicians across multiple manufacturing sites.
Deliver high-quality products on time and within budget for both current and emerging programs.
Develop and execute a clear vision for Manufacturing Operations to align with the division's strategic goals.
Coach and mentor production managers and supervisors while maintaining a high bar for excellence on the floor.
Coordinate with engineering, planning, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure operational success.
Provide high-quality briefings to senior leadership and customers regarding manufacturing progress and outcomes.
What we're looking for
6+ years of experience managing manufacturing and production operations.
3+ years in a supervisor or production operations management role at the Director level or above.
3+ years of experience as a manager of managers.
Experience managing an operator/technician workforce of over 100 people within a direct organization.
Experience communicating directly with designers and engineers.
Comprehensive understanding of product lifecycle (NPI to scaled production), LEAN manufacturing, and change management.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in a technical field (engineering, business, or applied science) (preferred); working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws (preferred).
