Join our newly launched Forward Deployed Engineering team as a Principal-level FDE Lead, where you will serve as a key technical advisor to internal and future external clients for the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Your day-to-day involves deep hands-on work with tools like Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, and Great Expectations while also providing strategic guidance on data pipeline design, best practices, and governance. You’ll collaborate closely with seasoned engineers and product managers to empower users in the investment management domain by driving platform adoption and solving complex technical challenges. Required skills include extensive data engineering experience, expert SQL proficiency, deep knowledge of Snowflake architecture, and strong problem-solving abilities. This role offers a unique blend of technical leadership and client engagement without direct managerial duties, making it ideal for senior professionals who excel in translating technical capabilities into real-world success stories.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to DPaaS adopters, guiding them in designing EDP-native data pipelines.
Provide expert guidance on EDP data pipeline design, including ingestion, transformation, and orchestration patterns.
Act as a Snowflake subject-matter expert, advising teams on data modeling, SQL design, and performance optimization.
Review pipeline designs to ensure alignment with enterprise data quality, governance, and security standards.
Mentor junior forward deployed engineers and guide them in following agile methodologies and best practices.
Tackle complex technical challenges in real-time, troubleshooting issues across the EDP stack and ensuring high reliability.
What we're looking for
8+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture roles.
Expertise in SQL development and performance tuning for ETL and BI.
Proficiency with Apache Airflow for complex ETL orchestration.
Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformations and schema management.
Strong skills in relational and dimensional data modeling.
Deep knowledge of Snowflake’s architecture, features, and optimization techniques.
Experience with Great Expectations for data quality validation.
