DevOps, Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
• Design and develop new cloud implementations including architecture design, performance monitoring, and end-to-end automation.
• Build and operate a cloud-based orchestration platform using DevOps tools and Infrastructure as Code.
• Create automated functional, performance, resiliency, and end-to-end tests as required quality gates in the pipeline.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
• Build tooling that enables environment owners to diagnose and fix production health issues independently.
• Provide technical guidance to the business, mentor engineers, and lead communities of practice across software engineering.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, or Go.
• Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Practical cloud native experience and expertise with AWS infrastructure services.
• Proficiency in networking, public cloud architecture, and Infrastructure as Code with hands-on Terraform experience.
• Expertise in designing complex cloud architectures, deploying scalable solutions, and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Testing proficiency from unit to end-to-end using tools like Cucumber, JUnit 5, pytest, JMeter, and Gremlin.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
• Experience designing and operating production workloads on AWS with Terraform (preferred).
• Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot (preferred).
• Experience in microservice and API development with proficiency in both Python and Java (preferred).
• Experience with observability tools like Splunk, Grafana, or Dynatrace, and data streaming platforms like Kafka (preferred).
• AWS certification such as Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer (preferred).
• Knowledge of the financial services industry or another regulated environment (preferred).
