As a Cyber Systems Engineer, you will provide cybersecurity engineering services to support a client's mission by designing and building secure systems capable of resisting advanced cyber threats. You will coordinate with teams to identify the appropriate mix of tools and techniques to translate customer goals into actionable plans. Your daily responsibilities include requirements analysis, architecture design, technology assessment, and metrics development. You will also perform tool testing in operational environments and manage full lifecycle projects for technical solution programs. Required expertise includes networking protocols like TCP/IP, MPLS, SONET, Ethernet, routing, switching, and firewalls, as well as virtual machine technology. You must possess a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and experience developing System Security Plans and enforcing information systems security policies.
Design and build secure systems to protect against advanced cyber threats.
Translate customer needs into actionable plans for secure and effective technical solutions.
Perform requirements analysis, architecture design, and technology assessments for systems engineering.
Develop and review System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting documentation for the Assessment and Authorization process.
Identify security risks and develop effective mitigation strategies based on assessment reports.
Provide security review and approval for changes to accredited systems, including software and firewall updates.
Test tools in operational environments and resolve issues with vendors and other personnel.
Plan and direct full lifecycle projects for highly visible technical solution programs.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience providing cyber security support to large scale networks or information systems.
Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies across multiple stakeholder organizations.
Experience determining security requirements by analyzing business needs and evaluating industry offerings to identify products that meet security requirements.
Experience supporting the development and review of System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting documentation for the Assessment and Authorization process.
Experience reviewing assessment reports to identify security risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
Experience providing security review and approval for changes to accredited systems, including software installations and firewall changes.
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph and a high school diploma or GED are required.
