As a Senior GPU Product Application Engineer at AMD’s Datacenter Product Application Engineering team, you will collaborate closely with external OEM partners and internal development teams to ensure the successful deployment of AMD’s Instinct™ Accelerators in customer data centers. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing technical interactions with partners, co-optimizing AI software stacks with firmware and upper software layers, designing performance analysis tools, and leading debug efforts for complex issues across hardware and software domains. You will also develop manufacturing tests to ensure reliability at scale and author design guidelines and training materials. Ideal candidates should have experience with PCIe-based hardware development, server platforms, and system-level debugging, as well as strong knowledge in server architecture and interfaces. Familiarity with GPU architectures, enterprise Linux environments, and scripting languages like Shell/BASH or Python is preferred.

What you'll do

  • Manage technical interaction with OEM partners to enable AMD Instinct™ Accelerator deployment.
  • Design and build tools for collecting and presenting GPU performance data correlating to hardware characteristics.
  • Support partners in the validation of AMD GPUs, guiding them on tool use and test methods.
  • Lead debug efforts for partner/customer issues, driving root cause investigations across teams.
  • Work with partners to develop manufacturing/screen tests ensuring reliability at scale.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience with PCIe-based hardware development and high-speed IO signals.
  • Strong analytical skills for quantitative analysis of technical issues and problem-solving.
  • Hands-on expertise in system-level debugging, bring-up, and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with GPU architectures, server platforms, and enterprise Linux environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of server firmware/BIOS settings, boot processes, and monitoring software.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
