Required skills include proficiency in C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or JavaScript. The position demands deep knowledge of CPU micro-architecture, common performance benchmarks, OS internals, and compiler technology to optimize code for future hardware designs.

What you'll do

  • Profile and analyze existing and emerging workloads within CPU and SoC simulation environments.
  • Develop and maintain performance and trace analysis tools.
  • Create visual extensions to assist internal teams and software partners with data analysis.
  • Run and analyze workloads on simulators and prototype devices.
  • Automate performance analysis infrastructure for hardware evaluation.
  • Identify hardware advancement opportunities by developing expertise in emerging fields like ML, AR, and VR.
  • Analyze workloads in new product areas to guide CPU roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate with software teams to optimize code for specific CPU designs and roadmaps.

What we're looking for

  • Experience with CPU architecture and micro-architecture.
  • Object-oriented programming experience with C and C++.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Javascript.
  • Experience with CPU performance analysis and associated tools.
  • Experience with common performance benchmarks.
  • MS or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 20+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
