Co-Op Security Consultant - Strategy, Risk & Compliance 2027 joins IBM Consulting to support clients in improving their security posture through integrated business design and execution. Working alongside senior consultants, you will collect and analyze technical requirements to monitor, detect, plan, build, implement, and support advanced security solutions. You will participate in various design activities, from requirements analysis to system and process specification. The role requires a consultative mindset, strong communication skills, and an understanding of security concepts. Required competencies include familiarity with Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems, as well as networking fundamentals and protocols. Preferred qualifications include experience with encryption standards, identity management, and tools such as Java, Python, C/C++, Ruby, or Go. You will address complex challenges by turning strategies into actions across diverse platforms to solve critical security problems for clients.
Collect and analyze business and technical requirements to solve complex client challenges.

What we're looking for
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong interest in cybersecurity and basic understanding of security concepts.
Familiarity with operating systems including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, communication, and writing skills.
Experience in security domains, network design, or software development (preferred); exposure to programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ (preferred).
