C5 Laboratory Technician As a C5 Laboratory Technician, you will join the team to support multiple persistent and episodic networks that facilitate Joint, Service, and Coalition experiments, demonstrations, and test and evaluation events. You will be responsible for building, configuring, upgrading, and maintaining network-specific infrastructure while troubleshooting issues to increase reliability for mission-critical systems. Your daily work involves analyzing current infrastructures and performing complex technical functions such as designing, terminating, and testing Cat-5e or Cat-6a copper cable, 50-micron fiber optic, 62.5 multimode fiber optic, and single mode fiber optic. You will utilize your expertise in network design and architecture to optimize Department of War enterprise networks. Required skills include experience with equipment power panels, electronic systems assembly, and the ability to implement scalable and resilient infrastructures within a national security context.

What you'll do

  • Design and deploy network infrastructure to support persistent and episodic networks for joint and coalition events.
  • Build, configure, upgrade, and maintain specific network infrastructure components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to increase the reliability of mission-critical systems.
  • Analyze existing infrastructures to optimize client operations and modernization efforts.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to clients on various mission-critical projects.
  • Design, terminate, and test copper cables and multiple types of fiber optic cabling.
  • Perform complex technical functions in support of engineering activities and task order requirements.

What we're looking for

  • Secret clearance is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience as a network laboratory technician supporting the Department of War.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years of experience as a network laboratory technician supporting the Department of War.
  • Knowledge of equipment power panels, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic systems or specialized test equipment.
  • Ability to implement scalable and resilient network infrastructures.
  • Experience designing, terminating, and testing copper and various types of fiber optic cables.
  • TS/SCI clearance (preferred); Bachelor’s degree in IT or Information Systems (preferred).
