As a Business Banking Data Owner Senior Associate - Insurance, you will be accountable for the lifecycle of data created, provisioned, and consumed across Business Banking products to support analytics, operations, and regulatory obligations. Your daily work involves translating business needs into technical specifications, identifying and mitigating risks related to protection and quality, and managing the integration of data into reporting platforms. The role requires expertise in data governance, metadata, and data quality within the context of banking products like lending, deposits, and payments. Required skills include SQL, database concepts, and cloud or big-data platforms, with preferred experience in Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau, and Agile methodologies.

What you'll do

  • Define and document the scope, purpose, ownership, and classification of critical business banking data.
  • Create plans for delivering product data to support analytics, operations, and AI/ML use cases.
  • Document requirements for data accuracy, completeness, timeliness, lineage, and metadata across stakeholders.
  • Execute processes to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks related to data protection, quality, and access.
  • Investigate root causes of data issues and coordinate with technical teams for timely remediation.
  • Integrate business banking data into approved analytics and reporting platforms while maintaining governance standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, structures, business rules, and delivery processes.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a data-related field such as data management, governance, analytics, engineering, product data, business analysis, or quality.
  • Experience working with business or product data including requirements definition, documentation, issue analysis, or data controls.
  • Working knowledge of data management, metadata, data quality, privacy/security, retention, and governance concepts.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements and partner with technology teams on implementation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver through cross-functional partnerships.
  • Familiarity with SQL, database concepts, cloud or big-data platforms, or data modeling concepts.
  • Experience in business banking, lending, deposits, servicing, payments, or small business financial services (preferred).
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Hadoop/Spark, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar tools (preferred).
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, metadata repositories, data catalogs, lineage, data quality rules, or issue management (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery, JIRA, user stories, technical specifications, or product/data operating models (preferred).
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting, risk management, operational controls, or AI/ML data readiness (preferred).
