Ideal candidates should have a PhD or equivalent experience in fields such as computer science, electrical engineering, or statistics, along with expertise in Python, R, Scala, and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. This role requires a strong background in AI modeling paradigms and the ability to contribute to patent filings and scientific publications.

What you'll do

  • Research and develop AI solutions for Microsoft’s products and services.
  • Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to large-scale data sets.
  • Ensure data integrity by reviewing ETL code and providing critical feedback.
  • Communicate research findings and ideas to stakeholders within the organization.
  • Publish relevant intellectual property and scientific research in AI fields.
  • Bridge R&D efforts, collaborating with software engineers and product managers.

What we're looking for

  • PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in statistics, predictive analytics, research (or equivalent).
  • Publication record in LLMs, SLMs, multi-modal models, deep learning, etc.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks and big-data application solutions.
  • Proficient in Python/R/Scala or similar programming languages.
