As an Application Engineer, you will join a collaborative team to drive innovation in abrasive processes and product development. You will lead application development by managing ideation, documentation, feasibility analysis, and validation while troubleshooting performance challenges at customer sites. Your daily work involves providing technical insights to Product Development teams, creating new methods to evaluate abrasive solution performance, and delivering training to customers, sales representatives, and industrial distributors through in-person visits and e-media content. To succeed, you must possess expertise in engineering or materials science, along with skills in construction and fabrication using industrial abrasives. You will solve technical challenges related to material processing and provide essential support for abrasive solutions. The role requires proficiency in technical sales, manufacturing engineering, and the ability to document complex technical work while presenting results effectively to diverse stakeholders.
Lead application development including ideation, documentation, feasibility analysis, and validation.
Troubleshoot technical challenges and optimize the performance of abrasive processes at customer sites.
Provide insights on customer needs to the Product Development team for new solution development.
Provide application support and training to customers, sales representatives, and industrial distributors.
Develop new methods to evaluate the performance of abrasive solutions.
Create e-media content and provide in-person technical support to various stakeholders.
What we're looking for
A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in technical support, application engineering, or manufacturing engineering are required.
Alternatively, a High School diploma/GED and six years of experience in technical support, application engineering, or manufacturing engineering are accepted.
Expertise equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Materials Science is preferred.
Five years of relevant industrial technical, sales, and/or customer experience is an additional qualification.
Experience in new product development and product/process validation during scale up is preferred.
Ability and willingness to effectively document technical work and present results are required.
Hands-on construction and fabrication experience, particularly with industrial abrasives, is preferred.
