As a Senior Analytics Engineer on the Platform Data Science & Engineering team, you will own how the company understands the efficiency of its cloud and AI infrastructure. You will join a team of analytics, data, and visualization engineers to define core metrics, build datasets, and deliver insights regarding compute, storage, streaming, and machine learning platforms. Your daily work involves developing metric frameworks from scratch, building logic and pipelines, and creating dashboards to turn cost and usage patterns into actionable recommendations. You will specifically pioneer ways to measure the productivity impact of AI tooling and autonomous agents. To succeed, you must be fluent in Python and SQL, possessing strong skills in metric research, data storytelling, and self-sufficient analytics engineering within a complex technical domain.

What you'll do

  • Define and own core metrics for infrastructure cost, usage, and efficiency across compute, storage, and machine learning platforms.
  • Pioneer new frameworks to measure the productivity impact of AI tooling and autonomous agents.
  • Build data pipelines and logic to transform manual analysis into trusted, reusable insights.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities and translate cost patterns into actionable recommendations for meaningful savings.
  • Create dashboards, reports, and narratives to communicate efficiency data to engineers and senior executives.
  • Partner with Data Engineers to build upstream pipelines and with Data Scientists on forecasting and reliability work.

What we're looking for

  • Experienced in metric research and development in a technical domain to build coherent metric frameworks.
  • Self-sufficient across the full analytics loop including data exploration, cleaning, light pipeline building, and dashboards.
  • Fluent in Python and SQL.
  • Exceptional communicator experienced at telling stories with data and influencing decisions at all levels of the business.
  • Strong product thinker with the ability to identify partner needs and build satisfying solutions.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and minimal oversight or process.
  • Thoughtful about using AI coding and analytics agents in your own craft.
  • Experienced in measuring cost, efficiency, or system performance in a cloud or streaming context (preferred).
