As a Senior Software Engineer on the Content Apps team at VIZIO, you will design and develop scalable software solutions for managing, testing, and monitoring applications within the company’s ecosystem. Your responsibilities include building integration points for mission-critical third-party partners, designing containerized APIs deployed to the cloud, and writing efficient code in languages such as Go, Python, SQL, and Terraform. You will also contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines and automated testing, while ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and maintainable. Additionally, you will mentor peers, conduct design reviews, and support defect management and debugging. The role requires strong proficiency in a strongly-typed language, experience with major cloud providers, relational databases, containers, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines, along with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
Design and implement containerized APIs deployed to the cloud.
Write efficient and reliable code in multiple languages including Go, Python, SQL, and Terraform.
Contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and automated testing processes.
Assist in solution design and participate in design reviews to ensure scalable, secure systems.
Monitor application performance, conduct maintenance, and manage defect resolution and debugging tasks.
What we're looking for
5+ years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Proficiency in strongly-typed languages and familiarity with JavaScript, Go, Python, SQL, and Terraform.
Experience in designing and implementing containerized APIs for cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Strong skills in code reviews, debugging, and delivering scalable, secure software components to major cloud providers.
Knowledge of relational databases, containers, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automation scripting.
Ability to work independently or collaboratively, contributing to design reviews and promoting engineering best practices.
