TL;DR · Tactical Network & Mission Systems Engineer, Maritime

As a Tactical Network & Mission Systems Engineer at Anduril's Multinational Digital Infrastructure team, you will design and implement network infrastructure for autonomous maritime platforms, integrating acoustic modems, tactical RF, satellite backhaul, and classified terrestrial networks into cohesive connectivity solutions. You'll work closely with principal architects and platform engineering teams to develop software-defined networking strategies that enable seamless communication across undersea vehicles, surface vessels, aerial systems, and seabed sensors. This hands-on role involves coding, debugging in real environments, and validating network architecture for contested and degraded conditions, ensuring secure data flow between US, Australian, and UK sovereign environments while supporting operational exercises at sea. Essential skills include experience with software-defined networking, military defense networking, and a deep understanding of the network stack from physical to application layers.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement network infrastructure for maritime autonomous systems.
  • Build cross-domain transport solutions integrating acoustic modems, RF, satellite backhaul, and classified networks.
  • Develop networking solutions for contested environments with mesh networking and priority-based traffic management.
  • Implement multinational network architecture ensuring secure data flow between US, UK, and Australia.
  • Support operational exercises by delivering network infrastructure that proves integrated capability at sea.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions through prototyping, performance testing, and data-driven input.

What we're looking for

  • 6-10 years of experience in network engineering or tactical network engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with software-defined networking and distributed communications systems.
  • Strong understanding across the entire network stack, including physical layer and transport protocols.
  • Experience building networking solutions for autonomous or mission-critical systems in unreliable environments.
  • Knowledge of military defense networking technologies such as HAIPE/Type 1 crypto and cross-domain solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various engineering teams on complex projects.
  • US citizenship with active Secret clearance, TS preferred.
