As a System Application Engineer on AMD’s Datacenter GPU Platform Application Engineering team, you will support customers in the Cloud, HPC, and OEM segments by collaborating with external partners and internal teams to ensure successful deployment of AMD’s Instinct™ Accelerators. Your daily tasks include managing technical interactions with OEM/ODM partners, guiding them through system bring-up and validation processes, leading debug efforts for hardware and firmware issues, and developing manufacturing tests for reliability at scale. You will also author design guidelines and training materials while recommending improvements to enhance customer experience. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in data center system design and application engineering, with strong skills in PC/server architecture, system-level debugging, and enterprise Linux environments. Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenCL, CUDA, or ROCm is beneficial, as well as proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Python, and Shell/BASH.

What you'll do

  • Manage technical interaction with OEM/ODM partners to enable AMD Instinct™ Accelerator deployment.
  • Support partners in the bring-up and validation of AMD GPUs, guiding them on tool use and test methods.
  • Lead debug efforts for partner/customer issues across hardware, firmware, and drivers.
  • Develop manufacturing/screen tests with partners to ensure large-scale reliability.
  • Identify gaps between partner requirements and AMD offerings, working to close them.

What we're looking for

  • Strong analytical skills and structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Extensive experience in Data Center system design, validation, or Application Engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise in system bring-up, hardware debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Solid knowledge of PC/server architecture, interfaces, and enterprise Linux environments.
