Staff Software Engineer, Trends Machine Learning Infrastructure

What you'll do

• Set technical direction for a unified insights platform that powers Pinterest Trends and Audience Insights.
• Architect scalable data pipelines generating personalized insights from trend, audience, and content signals.
• Lead delivery of high-impact roadmap bets like Trends Digest and Moments from prototype to production.
• Build LLM-powered capabilities with safety guardrails for summarization, classification, and conversational insights.
• Use AI to accelerate prototyping, design exploration, and code generation while ensuring correctness and quality.
• Mentor engineers, raise technical standards, and establish measurement practices linking insight quality to revenue impact.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on large-scale data or ML platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Hands-on experience building AI-powered tools and data pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead product-engineering initiatives from prototype to production scale.
• Strong track record in evaluating and verifying AI-assisted work for accuracy and quality.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams across multiple organizational boundaries.
• Demonstrated capability in accelerating engineering workflows using AI technologies.
