As a Staff Engineer at JLL Technologies in New York City, you will join the Research Technology & AI Agents team to build and iterate on AI-powered platforms and agents that automate research workflows. Your day-to-day responsibilities include leveraging AI coding assistants and enterprise software agents to develop, test, and deliver production-quality code, while ensuring high standards of quality and reliability through effective engineering judgment. You will also collaborate with Product and Research teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions, mentor junior engineers, and communicate progress clearly to leadership. The role requires proficiency in AI coding tools, microservice architectures, cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, and experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB. Additionally, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and front-end frameworks is preferred for building scalable APIs and internal tools that enhance team velocity.
Lead the development and testing of AI-powered platforms using coding assistants and enterprise software agents.

What we're looking for
8+ years of professional software engineering experience
Proficiency in using AI coding tools and agents for production software development
Strong ability to review, validate, and debug AI-generated code
Expertise in backend systems, microservices, and distributed systems (Python, Node.js, Java, Go, C#)
Experience designing and maintaining RESTful or gRPC APIs
Solid experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
