Staff Product Manager, AI Safety

What you'll do

• Own and drive the product roadmap for GenAI safety across Pinterest's AI-powered surfaces.
• Lead proactive identification of risks and adversarial attack vectors in AI systems.
• Translate nuanced content guidelines into precise product requirements and model guardrails.
• Define and track quantitative safety metrics to ensure AI systems meet safety standards at scale.
• Develop and maintain AI safety incident runbooks and lead rapid triage and remediation efforts.
• Stay ahead of emerging risks in the rapidly evolving AI landscape and build extensible safety infrastructure.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of product management experience in GenAI/ML, trust & safety, or responsible AI.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts including generative models and multi-modal systems.
• Experience with AI ethics frameworks and regulatory landscapes like NIST AI RMF and EU AI Act.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through ambiguous problem spaces with a bias for action.
• Proficiency in threat modeling, risk validation, and translating insights into clear product strategies.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical and ethical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
