The engineer will manage the layout of battery arrays, ensure design compatibility with vendors, and participate in community outreach events. Additionally, they will support RFP processes by working with procurement to quote systems and prepare pricing models based on market drivers and customer needs. Ideal candidates have a BS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering and experience in renewable energy, along with familiarity with battery storage technologies and communication protocols like Modbus and TCP/IP.
Interface with battery OEMs to obtain technical information and stay updated on technology trends.
Prepare conceptual project layouts using QGIS, CAD, or Visio software for utility-scale projects.
Manage the layout and design of battery arrays, ensuring compatibility with selected vendors.
Support electrical system design efforts in collaboration with the Electrical Engineering team.
Coordinate with Project Management and Operations teams to ensure timely transfer of technical responsibilities.
Work with Procurement and battery manufacturers to quote systems meeting RFP requirements.
What we're looking for
BS degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
At least 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy.
Familiarity with battery storage project procurement and construction processes.
Experience with electrical system design and contract negotiations.
Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, TCP/IP, CANbus, DNP3.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
