TL;DR · Sr. Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer, Gateways (Starlink)

As a Senior Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer on the Starlink team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and testing electronics for ground stations that serve as intermediaries between satellites and end-users. Your daily responsibilities include developing novel test solutions, performing failure analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, thermal, software, and supply chain engineers. You will also conduct environmental tests like HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock, and vibration, ensuring that the ground antenna hardware can operate reliably under extreme conditions. This role requires expertise in electronics reliability, manufacturing, failure mechanisms, RF principles, and quality tools such as Lean and Six Sigma.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop novel test solutions for ground antenna electronics.
  • Execute environmental, RF, mechanical, and electrical tests on hardware.
  • Perform detailed failure analysis to identify root causes of hardware issues.
  • Implement corrective actions based on failure analysis findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated hardware systems.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development, failure analysis, or reliability engineering.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other STEM discipline.
  • Experience with electronics and mechanical design including RF principles.
  • Expertise in environmental testing such as HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock & vibration.
  • Strong understanding of electronics reliability, manufacturing, and failure mechanisms.
