Broadcom seeks a Software Systems Engineer (P5) to join VMware Cloud Foundation’s AI and Advanced Services team, focusing on developing a premier private cloud AI platform. This role involves designing and implementing scalable Kubernetes-based Platform Services such as Model Gallery, ML API Gateway, and Data Indexing, while also owning the end-user CLI experience across all components. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in distributed systems, proficiency in Go, C++, or Python, and hands-on expertise with Docker and Kubernetes, including deploying and maintaining Operators. Key responsibilities include collaborating on system design, developing automated tests, participating in code reviews, and resolving complex issues related to AI services and their integration with other infrastructure components.
Design and deliver expanded capabilities of Kubernetes-based platform services for AI.
Own the end user CLI across all components of the AI platform.
Decompose complex problems into detailed requirements and develop scalable solutions.
Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure feature quality and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Private AI services and their interfaces.
Participate in code reviews to align with VMware's coding standards and best practices.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in scalable distributed systems
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container technologies
Proficiency in Go, C++, or systems-level Python
Experience deploying and maintaining Kubernetes Operators
Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams
BS plus 12+ years of related experience or MS plus 10+ years in software industry
