Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead the Digital Onboarding engineering organization. This role is accountable for the delivery and evolution of secure, resilient, and customer‑centric onboarding platforms while driving engineering excellence, talent development, and alignment with enterprise architecture and risk standards. The leader will play a key role in advancing Wells Fargo’s AI strategy by enabling responsible and consistent adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle to improve productivity, quality, and speed of delivery. Success in this role requires strong technical leadership, effective cross‑functional partnership, and a commitment to modern engineering and AI‑enabled practices that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.
In this role, you will
- Deliver secure, reliable, and scalable Digital Onboarding platforms that meet regulatory, risk, and non‑functional requirements
- Set clear technical direction aligned with Banking Platform Architecture and Wells Fargo technology strategy
- Ensure predictable execution, accountability, and quality across all stages of delivery and production support
- Act as a visible engineering leader during delivery, operational, and risk escalations
- Champion engineering excellence through strong SDLC discipline, automation, observability, and continuous improvement
- Build a sustainable engineering organization through intentional talent development, succession planning, and performance management
- Manage capacity, financial planning, and vendor engagements in alignment with strategic priorities
- Promote Agile and DevOps practices while encouraging innovation and a learning mindset across teams
- Partner with architects and senior engineers to align solutions with Wells Fargo Technology strategies, enabling modernization and migration paths (e.g., cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy)
- Drive resolution of technology roadblocks across code, build, deployment, and environments while ensuring strong SDLC and security discipline
- Maintain appropriate hands‑on engagement through design guidance, peer reviews, and technical decision‑making to ensure quality and architectural alignment
- Ensure security, stability, scalability, and resiliency across platforms while proactively identifying and mitigating technology and enterprise risk
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, UX, Risk, and Compliance partners to influence roadmap priorities and deliver customer‑centric outcomes
- Manage relationships with third‑party vendors and technology service providers as needed
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience leading managers, develop senior engineering talent, and scale high‑performing teams
- 7+ years of Proven experience delivering customer‑facing digital platforms, preferably in onboarding, authentication, account opening, or adjacent domains
- 5+ years of modern software architecture, API‑driven platforms, cloud readiness, and application modernization
- 5+ years experience partnering with Product, UX, Architecture, Risk, and Security teams to deliver compliant and resilient solutions
- 5+ years hands‑on experience with Agile delivery, DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and modern SDLC standards
- 7+ years demonstrated ability to translate technical strategy into clearly defined business outcomes, influencing stakeholder decisions and measurable adoption, efficiency, or risk reduction improvements.
- 1 yr Experience driving responsible and scalable adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to improve delivery speed, quality, engineering productivity, and operational reliability
- 1 yr Demonstrated ability to foster an AI‑enabled engineering culture, encouraging experimentation, continuous learning, and measurable outcomes while operating within enterprise risk and governance frameworks
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms and developer productivity tools (e.g., copilots, automation, analytics, observability) and providing guidance on their effective and responsible use
- Experience translating AI and engineering capabilities into tangible business and customer outcomes, including efficiency gains, improved customer experience, or reduced operational risk
- Strong organizational awareness with the ability to influence adoption of new technologies and practices across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Proven success leading teams through technology change at scale, including modernization initiatives, process transformation, and new capability adoption
- Experience partnering with risk, compliance, and security teams to introduce innovation while maintaining strong controls and regulatory alignment

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
