Lead Technology at the Front Line of Financial Crime Defense
As a Software Engineering Senior Manager within Financial Crimes Technology, you will shape and lead the engineering vision behind some of Wells Fargo’s most critical risk management platforms. This is an opportunity to influence how large‑scale, mission‑critical systems are designed, modernized, and deliver systems that directly protect customers, the firm, and the financial system itself. You will guide multiple engineering teams responsible for building resilient, scalable platforms that power financial crime detection, prevention, and regulatory compliance at enterprise scale.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will translate complex regulatory expectations, risk priorities, and business strategy into elegant, durable technology solutions. Partnering closely with leaders across Financial Crimes Risk Management, Product, Architecture, Platforms, and Technology, you will help drive capabilities across customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, investigations, and regulatory reporting. Key Responsibilities:
Technology & Engineering Leadership
- Lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for delivering and supporting Financial Crimes technology platforms and services.
- Drive consistent engineering execution, modern development practices, and platform stability across legacy and modernized systems.
- Ensure solutions are designed with a secure‑by‑design, scalable, and resilient architecture aligned to enterprise standards.
- Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers
Financial Crimes Domain Enablement
- Partner with Financial Crimes Risk Management stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements, business needs, and risk priorities into actionable technology delivery.
- Support capabilities across areas such as Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Transaction Monitoring, Sanctions, Investigations, Testing & Monitoring, and Governance & Oversight.
- Ensure technology solutions strengthen risk coverage, data quality, control effectiveness, and regulatory transparency.
Delivery, Governance & Risk Management
- Own delivery outcomes, timelines, and quality across multiple initiatives and commitments.
- Influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices.
- Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed.
- Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk.
- Maintain clear governance, metrics, and reporting to provide leadership visibility into delivery health, risks, and regulatory impacts.
People & Organizational Leadership
- Build and lead high‑performing engineering organizations, including managers, individual contributors, and contingent resources.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
- Provide coaching, performance management, talent development, and succession planning for engineering leaders and teams.
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and risk awareness.
Modernization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive modernization initiatives that improve scalability, resilience, automation, and efficiency across Financial Crimes platforms.
- Promote adoption of modern engineering practices, whether for modernization or stabilization of existing platforms.
- Champion continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and operating models.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience within Financial Crimes Technology, AML, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Customer Due Diligence, KYC, or related risk platforms.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex, regulated technology solutions at scale.
- Familiarity with application modernization, and data strategy in an enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of technology operating models, enterprise architecture concepts, and large‑scale program execution.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, drive alignment across complex organizations, and translate strategy into execution.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for executive audiences.
- Strong understanding of risk management, controls, and governance in a regulated financial services environment.
- Proven people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
