The Boeing Company’s Special Projects Dallas team is seeking Associate and Mid-Level Software Engineers to contribute to the development of mission systems software for the P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS). In this role, you will collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to design, develop, troubleshoot, and test AAS Mission Systems and Training Systems software. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating algorithms, interfaces, and designs, as well as documenting and maintaining architectures and requirements. The team uses Java, C/C++, Linux, and OpenGL in an Agile/DevOps environment, focusing on real-time algorithm implementation and simulation training for fleet operators. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 1+ years of software development experience, with strong skills in Java and additional experience in C/C++ and Linux operating systems.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot P-8A AAS Mission Systems software.
  • Create and maintain architectures, requirements, interfaces, and designs for software systems.
  • Develop test procedures and document results to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Collaborate on the integration of mission systems software with hardware and other engineering disciplines.
  • Implement real-time algorithms and support training simulations for P-8A operators.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics.
  • 1+ years of experience in software development and Java programming.
  • Experience with C/C++ and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of AGILE/DevOps methodologies and real-time algorithm implementation.
  • Skills in developing OpenGL and documenting software architectures and requirements.
