TL;DR · Site Reliability Engineer

Equifax is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join its dynamic team, responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of large-scale distributed systems across cloud-native and hybrid architectures. This role involves managing system uptime, building infrastructure as code using Terraform or scripting with cloud CLI, developing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and creating automated tooling for production deployments. SREs will also lead blameless postmortems to improve mean time to resolution (MTTR) and enhance overall system availability. Ideal candidates have 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, and public cloud development, along with proficiency in languages like Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript, or node.js, and expertise in continuous integration/delivery practices. The role requires a strong background in DevSecOps, operational excellence, systems thinking, technical communication, and troubleshooting complex issues in distributed architectures.

What you'll do

  • Manage system uptime across cloud-native and hybrid architectures.
  • Build infrastructure as code patterns meeting security and engineering standards.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines for application and cloud architecture deployment.
  • Create automated tooling to deploy service requests into production.
  • Solve complex distributed architecture problems and lead blameless postmortems.
  • Improve runbooks to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) for incidents.

What we're looking for

  • 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, database administration, and networking.
  • 2+ years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform, scripting with cloud CLI, or programming with cloud SDKs.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines for application deployment using Jenkins and cloud-native toolchains.
  • Strong system administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows systems.
  • Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge in systems, storage, networking, security, and databases.
  • Ability to lead availability blameless postmortems and improve runbooks to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR).
