What you'll do

Develop mathematical models for sensors, capturing noise, latency, calibration, and field of view.
Create detailed camera models including optics, image processing pipelines, distortion, and resolution characteristics.
Integrate component models into comprehensive system-level simulations to represent interactions accurately.
Design experiments to gather real-world data for model parameter identification and validation.
Conduct trade-off studies using models to optimize system architecture based on performance metrics.
Perform sensitivity analyses to understand the impact of individual parameters on overall system behavior.

What we're looking for

6+ years experience in system modeling, simulation, and analysis for electro-mechanical systems.
Expertise in developing models for sensors (IMUs, Lidars, Radars) and cameras with noise characteristics and calibration.
Strong theoretical background in control systems, dynamics, signal processing, and numerical methods.
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python (SciPy, NumPy, Pandas), or C/C++ for modeling and simulation.
Experience validating models against experimental data using statistical analysis techniques.
U.S. Person status required due to government contract requirements.
