The ideal candidate has 8+ years of Systems Engineering experience with a focus on conceptual design and requirements decomposition, extensive ICD authoring skills, and proficiency in data analysis tools like Python or MATLAB. Experience in maritime environments and familiarity with Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) standards is preferred.

What you'll do

  • Translate high-level operational desires into rigorous Concepts of Operations for multi-domain, System of Systems missions.
  • Lead architectural design to integrate pre-existing hardware and software into a cohesive, software-defined orchestration layer.
  • Author and enforce Interface Control Documents (ICDs) defining physical, electrical, and data boundaries for system integration.
  • Conduct trade studies and manage SWaP-C budgets to balance system capabilities against customer intent.
  • Build and maintain the source-of-truth functional architecture mapping data flows between disparate systems.
  • Own and drive engineering teams through critical upstream milestones like System Requirements Reviews (SRRs).

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of rigorous Systems Engineering experience in conceptual design and system architecture.
  • Proven track record of integrating disparate, legacy, and third-party hardware/software into unified systems.
  • Extensive experience authoring and enforcing complex Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Strong analytical skills for conducting Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) and managing SWaP-C budgets.
  • Ability to travel 20% for program support, proposal support, and stakeholder meetings.
