Senior Staff Systems Engineer - Performance Engineer - JVM

What you'll do

• Conduct high-level performance analysis to identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks.
• Drive initiatives to reduce infrastructure costs and latency by fine-tuning JVM parameters.
• Develop advanced observability tools using eBPF, JFR, and Flamegraphs for real-time insights.
• Optimize thread scheduling and manage resource isolation within Kubernetes environments.
• Design innovative infrastructure improvements addressing long-term performance challenges.
• Provide technical mentorship on JVM internals and performance best practices.

What we're looking for

• Expertise in JVM internals, including JIT compilation and class loading.
• Extensive experience with GC algorithms (ZGC, G1) for massive heaps and low latency.
• Deep understanding of Linux Kernel scheduling (CFS/EEVDF) and thread management.
• Mastery of heap/off-heap memory management and diagnosing complex leaks.
• Experience developing advanced observability tools using eBPF, JFR, Flamegraphs.
• Extensive knowledge of resource isolation with cgroups in Kubernetes environments.
