Affirm is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to lead web platform and infrastructure initiatives across all frontend teams. This role involves shaping best practices, driving architectural choices, and delivering critical improvements to the monorepo build and deploy systems for high reliability and performance. You will mentor senior engineers, collaborate with architects and product teams, and empower developers to leverage AI tools for faster delivery and improved developer experience. The ideal candidate has over a decade of experience in architecting and scaling web applications, expertise in React, TypeScript, NX, and other modern web technologies, and the ability to create and drive technical visions that enhance system reliability and performance at scale.

What we're looking for
10+ years of experience in architecting and scaling web applications for large user bases.
Deep understanding of modern web technologies including React, TypeScript, NX, and CI/CD tools.
Proven ability to create and drive technical vision and roadmap for complex systems.
Extensive track record of leading critical projects and improving system reliability and performance.
Experience in mentoring senior engineers and building relationships with cross-functional teams.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence stakeholders and share decisions.
