As a Senior Backend Engineer on the GetPaid Formats team at Wise in Tallinn, you will play a pivotal role in developing innovative payment solutions that cater to both businesses and consumers. Your day-to-day responsibilities include driving critical projects, defining technical vision, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with product managers and engineering leads to build the team roadmap. You will focus on enhancing our Payment Links, Invoice, QuickPay, and Pay With Wise products, which serve over 20,000 active customers. The ideal candidate possesses strong proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, expertise in RESTful APIs and asynchronous systems, and experience with distributed systems and financial correctness. Additionally, you should have a product mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work within an on-call rotation for critical services every 6-10 weeks.
