What you'll do

Design and build solutions to enhance GraphQL's functionality, scalability, and efficiency.

Contribute to the technical direction of Reddit’s GraphQL infrastructure by providing feedback.
Mentor fellow engineers within the team on complex backend systems and GraphQL architecture.
Develop tools and improve developer ergonomics for schema contributions in federated GraphQL.

What we're looking for

5+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale distributed backend systems.
Proficiency in Go or another general-purpose programming language.
Experience with cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS/GCP).
Strong ability to identify and drive high-impact projects aligned with company strategy.
High empathy and excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
Specific GraphQL backend experience preferred.
Capability in structuring and implementing complex data models.
