What you'll do

  • Applies debugging tools to proactively write code and reactively solve issues in live service environments.
  • Implements solutions and escalates complex issues impacting performance or functionality of live services.
  • Acts as Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for monitoring system/product/service health and initiating restoration actions.
  • Drives integration of instrumentation for telemetry data on system behavior, creating outputs like notifications or dashboards.
  • Collects, classifies, and analyzes data on metrics to refine products through data analytics and informed decision-making.
  • Builds and enhances software developer tools, identifying new methods and sharing best practices with the team.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on large-scale distributed systems.
  • Proven ability to apply debugging tools and conduct retrospective analysis to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience maintaining live service operations on a rotational basis and implementing solutions for performance or functionality issues.
  • Strong skills in integrating instrumentation for telemetry data gathering and using feedback loops from telemetry for design improvements.
  • Capable of building, enhancing, and contributing to software developer tools, including open-source contributions.
  • Demonstrated ability to define standardized, repeatable, scalable solutions ensuring high-quality product delivery.
