Senior Software Data Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead design and implementation of core platform services for metadata management and dataset lifecycle tracking.
• Architect high-performance Java-based backend services and APIs for data engineering platforms.
• Own data modeling and database design, setting best practices for schema design and query optimization.
• Design scalable data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and modern orchestration frameworks.
• Identify architectural gaps and drive initiatives to improve platform scalability and reliability.
• Define and enforce engineering standards and patterns across the broader organization.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience focusing on data platforms or large-scale distributed systems.
• Expert-level Java programming, architecting and delivering complex production-grade backend services.
• Deep expertise in relational databases including advanced data modeling, schema design, and query optimization at scale.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Hadoop, HDFS, Kafka, and workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
• Proven ability to drive end-to-end technical ownership of complex platform initiatives and influence broader technical direction.
• Experience with non-relational or NoSQL databases and knowledge of appropriate data storage paradigms.
