As a Senior Quantum Materials MBE Engineer, you will join an innovative R&D team focused on developing high-quality quantum materials and devices through advanced molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) processes. You will also leverage AI/ML tools to enhance experiment planning and analysis while maintaining UHV MBE systems and in-situ diagnostics. Ideal candidates have a PhD or equivalent experience, hands-on expertise in MBE or related thin-film growth techniques, and proficiency with scientific programming languages like Python. Experience with semiconductor–superconductor hybrid materials and low-temperature device characterization is preferred.

What you'll do

Develop and optimize MBE growth recipes for semiconductor–superconductor heterostructures.
Execute experiments to control interfaces, composition, strain, and defect density.
Design and execute data-driven experiments linking growth conditions to materials properties.
Operate and maintain UHV MBE systems and in-situ diagnostics.
Apply AI/ML tools to improve experiment planning, analysis, and optimization.
Support integration of materials advances into device fabrication flows.

What we're looking for

PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or related field with 0–2+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3–5+ years.
Hands-on experience with Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) and semiconductor or quantum materials systems.
Experience designing controlled experiments and analyzing data for material-device correlations.
Proficiency in scientific programming and data analysis tools like Python.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with low-temperature device characterization and improving materials quality.
